Uzbekistan’s historic cities are far apart, but the trains have brought them closer: a few hours to Samarkand, a night train to Bukhara or Khiva.
These tours are spent among monuments, bazaars and the streets of the old towns, usually with a guide — which makes more of it legible than wandering alone does.
