About This Tour

🏔 Shakhimardan is one of the most striking corners of the Fergana valley, above 1,500 metres. A mountain lake, a cable car, a short boat crossing and cool air. The Hazrat Ali shrine and the Kotyrbulak spring are here too. What to expect: • The Kotyrbulak spring — fill a bottle with mountain water • The cable car — 1.5 km, about 20 minutes • A boat crossing over the lake • A walk along the shore of the mountain lake • Tea with the mountains in front of you • Selenkur — a walk through the valley • A birch grove covering 360 hectares • The Hazrat Ali complex • Swimming in the mountain lake • Picking mushrooms in the birch grove • Tasting mountain honey 🛏 Accommodation is in a comfortable guest house, in two-, three- and four-bed rooms. 🛂 Bring your passport. Shakhimardan is an Uzbek exclave and the programme passes through passport control three times. Without a passport the trip is not possible. 🕐 Local time there runs an hour ahead of Tashkent.

📋 Itinerary

DAY 1

04:00 — Departure from Tashkent Brookland car wash car park, Uzbekiston Ovozi street 2. Comfort stops along the way as needed. 10:30 — Arrival at the border post 10:30–11:30 — Passport control 11:35 — Transfer to the hotel, about five minutes 11:40–12:00 — Check in and a short rest 12:05–12:25 — The Kotyrbulak spring Time for photographs, and you can fill a bottle with mountain water. 12:30–13:00 — Lunch Mastava and chicken kazan-kabob. 13:00 — On towards the village of Kyzylbulak 13:20–13:50 — Border control 14:00 — Up by cable car 1.5 km, about twenty minutes. A boat crossing over the lake — roughly three minutes. 14:30–15:30 — A walk along the lakeshore, free time and photographs 15:30–16:00 — Tea with a panoramic view of the mountains 16:00–17:00 — More walking and time to rest 18:30 — Back to Kyzylbulak 20:30 — Back at the hotel, free time

DAY 2

09:00 — Leaving the hotel 09:15–10:00 — Breakfast Porridge, egg, jam, butter, cheese and sausage. 10:00 — On towards Selenkur 10:45–11:45 — A walk through the Selenkur valley 12:00 — On to the next stop 12:40 — Arrival at the birch grove 12:40–14:00 — A guided walk through the grove Walking, photographs and the nature of the place. The grove covers 360 hectares. 14:00–15:00 — Lunch Beef and chicken shashlik. 15:00–16:00 — Free time in the grove Swimming, mushroom picking and a taste of mountain honey. 16:00 — Departure 16:20–16:40 — A stop at the Kotyrbulak spring 16:50–17:05 — The Hazrat Ali complex and a short tour 17:15 — On to the border post 17:30 (16:30 Tashkent time) — Border control After the border, the drive back to Tashkent. 22:30 — Approximate arrival in Tashkent 🛂 Bring your passport.
